Ebenezer Obey to mark 82nd birthday with masses

Music legend, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, has concluded plans to join the government and notable Nigerians to provide relief materials to the masses amid current challenges in the country.
This development is coming as part of the activities outlined by the music icon to mark his 82nd birthday. The Chief Commander, as he is fondly called, revealed that he was led to identify with the masses as he is set to add another year.
The octogenarian musician noted that his birthday celebration, which will be held on April 3rd doesn’t call for a lavish celebration, but a time to reflect, support the underprivileged, and appreciate God.

Speaking with Per Second News ahead of the birthday, he said “I thank God for the uncommon grace I have enjoyed as I will clock 82 in two weeks. I can’t quantify God’s divine grace upon my life as a music icon and God’s servant,” he said.
Obey who has just recovered from a life-threatening ailment noted that his 82 birthday celebration is solely centered on impacting lives and thanking God for the gift of life.
According to him, the April 3rd birthday celebration will feature multiple events as a medical outreach will be held at his father’s compound, Keesi, Abeokuta, Ogun State; distributions of palliatives will be held at several locations in Idogo, Abeokuta, and Lagos State, while a thanksgiving service will be held at his church, Decross Gospel Mission, headquarters, Iyanapaja, Lagos.
“I have been through a lot in life. But God saw me through. The last operation I had was a prostrate enlargement and I thank God that it was successful. The experience was terrifying, but God intervened. This is why I want to thank God, support people, and create more health enlightenment.

“The government can’t do it alone. They need people’s support and prayers. I also want to urge all Nigerians, both Christians and Muslims to embrace Agriculture. This is the only way Nigeria can survive and become a proud country,” he added.
